Linear stability of Couette flow in 3D Compressible Navier-Stokes equations

Abstract: 

In this talk, I will first give a short review of the typical phenomenons in hydrodynamic stability theory, including inviscid damping, enhanced dissipation and lift-up. Then I will show that how to capture the such effects by means of the Fourier multiplier method. Finally, I will use the Fourier multiplier method to prove the linear stability of Couette flow in 3D Compressible Navier-Stokes equations.
