Course Description

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of modern algebra.

Topics include : • Groups - examples of groups such as the permutation group, the dihedral groups and the cyclic groups. Subgroups, Lagrange's theorem and group homomorphisms. • Rings - examples of rings such as the ring of integers and polynomial rings. Integral domains, fields, ring homomorphisms, ideals and quotient rings. • Fields - examples of field extensions and finite fields.
