Abstract:

In this talk, I will introduce the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program (REU) at the Joint Institute for Computational Sciences (JICS) at the University of Tennessee/Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The REU program focuses on research projects in computational science and engineering (CSE) which has become an indispensable domain subject in many cross-disciplinary social and scientific research frontiers. I will conclude this talk with an overview of graduate programs in CSE and its career path forward in the US as the demand in workforce with CSE knowledge increases.
