Abstract:
In this mini-course, we will introduce the energy method based on the macro-micro decomposition of the Boltzmann equation around a local Maxwellian. In the meantime, we apply the energy method to study the global existence and large-time asymptotic behavior of solutions for the Cauchy problem on the Boltzmann equation.
