Online M.Phil-Ph.D. Admission Workshop

The Department of Mathematics and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences in CUHK have world-leading researchers in algebra, analysis, geometry, number theory, partial differential equations, scientific computing and topology. Our research postgraduate programmes aim to cultivate competent researchers in mathematics for academia and industrial research and development.

This Summer Workshop is organized for all potential applicants to the CUHK Mathematics MPhil-PhD programmes, to be admitted in Fall 2022. We welcome undergraduate students in their 3rd / final year of study or master students to apply. All participants of the workshop will be interviewed for the MPhil-PhD admission in Fall 2022. The first batch of MPhil-PhD offers will be made shortly after the workshop.

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) aims at attracting the best and brightest students from all over the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong.
The Fellowship provides:
- Monthly stipend of HK$26,900 (approx. US$3,450)
- Conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$13,500 (approx. US$1,730) per year
We strongly encourage applicants who are seeking admission to our full-time PhD programme to apply through the HKPFS. Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, research ability and potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.
