Entry to Campus

  • For visitors or staff who have not yet obtained staff ID cards, you will need to make registration at the security counter at the entrance area. Please show your identity documents (i.e., HKID Card/ Passport) for registration.
  • Alternatively, you may access CUHK campus via a QR code. If you wish to obtain a QR code for easy access to CUHK, please inform your Host/ Supervisor at least 2 working days prior to your visit. The Host/ Supervisor will invite the Department staff to arrange it for you. Kindly note that the QR code is only a 1-day valid code. When you come to CUHK the next day, you will need another QR code.

Campus Transportation

From University MTR Station
  • After exiting from University MTR station exit A, you can take school buses no. 1A or 1B. Get off at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The Department of Mathematics is located at Lady Shaw Building, which is opposite to your ‘get-off’ stop and then you may walk for about 1 minute to Lady Shaw Building.

From Tai Po Road
  • If you take buses no. 72, 72A, 73A or 74A, you can get off at Chinese University Stop. And then walk to Lady Shaw Building. It will take about 3 minutes.
Points to Note for Visitors
  • The University school bus service is only available for CUHK students and staff. Visitors shall arrange their own transportation for destinations within the campus. If necessary, the Transport Office staff may request passengers to show valid CUHK identity documents.
  • The University offers paid shuttle light bus service at the registration counter and you can find the schedule and payment from the following links:

  • If you take the paid shuttle bus, get off at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The Department of Mathematics is located at Lady Shaw Building, which is opposite to your ‘get-off’ stop and then you may walk for about 1 minute to Lady Shaw Building.

New Staff Reporting Duty

  • For new staff reporting duty, please bring along the originals of the following materials to the counter of the General office of the Department:
    • Valid travel documents (e.g., passports)
    • A printout of electronic work visa
    • A landing slip
    • All academic certificates
