Announcement

  • The "make-up test" will be held this Friday (25 OCT, 2019) during the lecture and tutorial.
  • Make-up tutorials will be conducted next week at W3 of 30/10 and F3 of 1/11. F2 of 1/11 will be the usual tutorial to be attended by all.
  • No tutorial again for the week (4/11-8/11) because 8th Nov is to be used for Mid-term Exam.
  • The midterm papers have been marked. You may come to my office (LSB 228, 10:30am-12:30am, 2:30pm-4:30pm by appointment) to collect your marked scripts. (Rex)
  • Due to the cancellation of final examination and among other factors, we need to adjust our assessment scheme; the new one is now set as follows:
  • 40% for home-works, and 60% for tests and the mid-term exam results.
  • University has announced the options for late-drop and Pass/Fail grading: Deadline on Dec 10 (Tue). Please Apply directly to RES. Course Description

This course is intended to provide conceptual understanding in the theory of functions of one variable. Topics include: real numbers, real valued functions, elementary set theory, limits of sequences and continuous functions.
