# MATH2060A - Mathematical Analysis II - 2017/18

### Announcement

- We will have tutorials on W1 and F1 in the second week. You may go to either one.
- I propose to change the tutorials from W1/F1 to W3/F1 (beginning from the third week). Anyone who cannot make it please let me know as soon as possible.
- Beginning from the third week, tutorials will be held on W3 (C3) and F1(LT4).
- Quiz 1 will be held on Jan 31 and Feb 2 during tutorials. You may attend either one session and fix it once and for all. The coverage of Quiz 1 is 6.1 and 6.2.
- We will study convex functions next week following my notes.
- There will be no classwork in the coming week. Tutors will work out more examples.
- Quiz 2 will be held on Feb 14 in lecture. It covers 6.4 (those taught) and my notes on convex functions.
- There will be 5/6 quizzes and only the best 4/5 will be counted. In principle you may give up one.
- Midterm will be held on March 2 in lecture. Its coverage is up to 2.1 in Notes 2 on integration theory.
- No assignment this week. Tutorial resumed on Feb 23 (F). Happy Lunar New Year !
- Assignment 6 will be posted on Feb 28(W).
- Notes 2 on integration has been revised by fixing a few typos and removing materials not taught in this term.
- I have added Improper Integral to Notes 2. Deleted it by accident.
- Ex 7 contains some materials to be covered on the coming Wednesday.
- Quiz 3 will be held in tutorial March 21 and March 23. It will cover 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 in Notes 2.

- Indices for theorems have been corrected in the notes on uniform convergence.
- There will be no classwork in the tutorial on March 28.
- Quiz 4 to be held on tutorials on April 11/13. It covers 3.1-3.3 in Notes 3.
- Quiz 5 to be held on tutorials on April 18/20. It covers 3.4, 3.5 and 9.1.
- Final Exam covers 2.3-2.5 in Notes 2, Notes 3, and Chapter 9 in Text.
- Ex 13 has been uploaded.
- Our TA's suggest to have an extra tutorial section on next Monday (April 23) to discuss Ex 12 and 13. It will be held from 3:30-5:30 at C1, LSB. All are welcome.
- Notes 4 on Power Series has been uploaded. It is for further reading. Do it after the final exam.
- A short note on Limit superior has been uploaded. Read it after the final exam.
