Research Assistant Professor

The Department of Mathematics is now inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant Professor in all areas of Mathematics. Applicants should have a relevant PhD degree and good potential for research and teaching.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing August 2018, renewable subject to mutual agreement.

Teaching Assistants

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for the post of Teaching Assistant. Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor degree and preferably some relevant teaching experience; (ii) an academic background in mathematics; and (iii) solid knowledge of communication skills, computer applications and project management. The appointees will report to the Chairman of the Department of Mathematics.

Duties include (a) coordination work, including teaching support and programme administration; (b) assisting in tutorials, laboratory/practical classes, preparation of course materials/classes, student consultation/supervision, and other academic activities; and (c) assisting in report drafting and writing.

Appointments will be made on contract basis for one year commencing September 2018, renewable subject to funding, performance and mutual agreement.
