• Test 1 covering Lectures 1-6 will hold in class on October 9. A review is given for your reference only.
• Corrections: prob.3,11.7 HW#03 should be 5x^2-8xy+5y^2=45; Prob. 22 sect. 11.7 HW#03 should be 4u^2-2v^2=1 whose graph is a hyperbola
• Corrections: tutorial 4, Q2, step3, t and s CAN NOT be 0 !!!
• Please be informed that classrooms for MATH2010C&D on 30 November 2012 (Fri) will be re-arranged as follows: (i) LSB LT5 for tutorial class (C&D, 08:30-09:15) on 30 November 2012 (Friday) will be changed to SWH 1; (ii) LSB LT5 for lecture class (C only, 09:30-11:15) on 30 November 2012 (Friday) will also be changed to SWH 1.

### Course Description

Functions of several variables, partial differentiation, differential and its geometric meaning, chain rule, maxima and minima, Lagrange multiplier, mean value theorem, Taylor series, and implicit function theorem.
