Our current research directions include:

Applied and computational geometry: Developing efficient and accurate methods for geometric mappings, surface/volumetric parameterizations and registrations with a rigorous theoretical foundation, and applying the methods to different science and engineering problems.

Mathematical metamaterial design: Developing computational tools for designing mechanical metamaterials with desired properites by optimizing their geometry and topology.

Quantitative biology and medical imaging: Utilizing mathematical methods to understand the growth and form of biological structures, and designing geometric methods for biological and medical shape analysis.
