• The first quiz will be on Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 in your tutorial class
• The second quiz will be on Oct. 12 and 13 in your tutorial class. It covers the homework problems in Chapter 2.
• The first midterm will be on Oct. 26 in regular class. It will cover everything till the proof of Cauchy Goursat Theorem on P150.
• The third quiz will be on Nov. 16 and 17 in your tutorial class. It covers the sections from the proof of Cauchy-Goursat theorem to maximum modulus principle.
• The last quiz will be a take-home quiz. I will assign homework problems on Nov. 19. The homework problem of this time will be required to hand in on Nov. 24 in my regular class. Some of the problems of this homework will be graded and the score will be used as the score for your last quiz.
• The homework this week (Nov. 19) will be due on Nov. 24.

Course Description

This course is about the basic theories on single variable complex functions. It will cover Chapters 1-7 in the book: Complex variables and applications by James Ward Brown and Ruel V. Churchill. The final grade will be evaluated as follows: 4 Quiz (5% for each will be counted in your final grade), 1 midterm (30%) and a final exam (50%). I will assign homework problems on each Thursday for your practice.
