I am shocked to hear the extremely sad news. I was hoping to meet him in person again when the situation of Covid-19 is better... We have a lot of beautiful memories with Ka-Sing. He was always very friendly, enthusiastic to Mathematics, and we all like him very much. My condolence goes to Ka-Sing's family and colleague. May his soul rest in peace. It was with great sadness I received the news of Ka-Sing's passing. I have so many memories of discussing research, and working with him, and at differnet corners of the world, conferences, including in Pittsburg, in Hong-Kong, at Cornell. In adition to his pioneering research, he also played a unique role in encouraging me, and other many researchers; helping us, and our community to more forward. My first visit to CUHK was shortly after Ka Sing moved there from Pittsburg, and I will always treasure those memories. Ka-Sing will be sorely missed, but momories remain; as well as the community, and the active research directions he helped to foster.
Professor Lau, I was so lucky to have you as my master degree mentor, I came to Hong Kong from Hunan Normal university, starting to learn how to do research, how to set high expectation about myself, even every weekly presentation was challeging for me, but you listened patiently with me every time, and also gave me enough guidance and support to my master thesis. Your light in the office always lasted very late, you always stayed in office during Saturdays. I will never forget you as you are really a good model of researcher and life-long learner, you influenced me a lot in learning and also life.

刘先生是我的博士导师的博士导师，他为湖南培养了很多数学人才。在我的导师的邀请下，我有幸于去年十一月份向刘先生汇报了一些数学结果。刘先生认真听完了，会后还向我询问论文和PPT。图片也是我唯一一次与刘先生的数学交流。刘先生的谦虚及对数学的热爱，让人难以忘怀。深切悼念刘先生！您一路走好！
