I will remember your dedication to mathematics and the Department. You worked in your office from morning until around 11pm almost 6 days per week, and I treasure your kindness to me as a colleague and friend.
Took a stochastics course with Prof. Lau, he was an amazing teacher and also helped me with my recommendation letter. He contacted one day about a simple mistake in my application letters for graduate schools, i was impressed as that showed he cared.
I took a graduate course of Prof. Lau in stochastic integrals when I was an MPhil student at CUHK. It was also very lucky of me to have met Prof. Lau in his retirement conference in 2018 when I happened to have returned to Hong Kong from Canada. As a harmonic analyst, I benefited a lot from the environment established by Prof. Lau when I was in CUHK. Thank you and you will be always remembered.
